Jim Freed is the author of the novel The Illiterate. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Monkeybicycle, H.O.W. Journal, SPACEY, Stereogum, on NPR (Neighborhood Public Radio) in conjunction with the 2008 Whitney Biennial and elsewhere. He holds a BA from American University and an MFA from the New School. Currently he lives in New York City where he has curated The Enclave Reading Series since 2006, which Electric Literature has called the most down and dirty reading series in the city.
